Preparing your registration video
- So that the instructors may have an understanding of participants’ abilities in advance and prepare the class accordingly, parents must submit a 90-second video of their participating children reading English text or singing an English song.
•The video shall only be used as a reference for the instructors and shall not affect registration eligibility.
•Choose either to read text or sing a song, which should be done in a natural way.
•Please ensure the recorded sound and imagery are clear. - Upload the video to YouTube and set the privacy setting as private.
- Name your video and follow other details as instructed in the Surveycake registration form.

- Full participation and compliance with regulations:
Participants are required to engage in all scheduled activities and to comply with venue regulations as well as directives issued by staff members. Leaving the event premises without prior permission is strictly prohibited. - Personal belongings:
Participants are responsible for safeguarding their personal belongings. The organizer shall not be held liable for any loss or damage to personal items that occurs during the event. - Do not bring valuables:
Do not bring electrically powered toys, consumer electronics, or an excessive amount of money, as there will be no time or reason during the event to use them. If participants do bring such items, the event organizer shall not be held liable for any loss, damage, or related disputes. - Behavioral expectations and participation eligibility:
Participants must exhibit proper classroom behavior, including respect for the venue and other people. If a participant purposely damages the property of others, behaves aggressively, or impedes the progress of the class, the event organizer shall first give a warning and notify the participant's parent. If the participant fails to change such behavior, the event organizer reserves the right to cancel the participant's eligibility with no refund and shall request that the parent come to pick up the participant.

Director and vocal coach Dolly Hsu
Dolly Hsu earned a DMA in music, vocal coaching, and accompanying at the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign. During her master's program, she began working as a musical theater director, conductor, and pianist for musicals. While studying in the US, she worked for five years as the artistic director of vocals for the Artists-in-Training Program at the Opera Theatre of St. Louis, and several of her students won the top scholarships awarded by the company Monsanto. Since 2022, she has worked as the music director for the Ballantyne Arts Center Youth Theatre in Charlotte, North Carolina, and productions she has led there include The Addams Family, Legally Blonde, Moana, and Matilda. Since 2023, she has worked with young students across Taipei, Hsinchu, Taichung, Kaohsiung, and Pingtung, guiding them in exploring the art of musical theatre and supporting them through the creative journey from rehearsal to performance. Before going to the US, she founded Semiscon Vocal Band, which is Taiwan's first a cappella group to release an album, won the top prize at the 2004 Austria Vokal, and, the following year, was nominated for the 16th Golden Melody Best Vocal Group Award. With her capacity as a choral singer, classical pianist, vocalist, contemporary musical professional, and extensively experienced and passionate teacher of teens, Hsu is helping train up some of Taiwan's next generation of artists and promote performing arts education.
Choreographer and director Meg Jen
Having earned a master's in performing arts with a concentration in choreography from National Taiwan Normal University, Meg Jen boasts 23 years of experience performing and 11 years teaching. She focuses on blending drama and a diverse dance vocabulary. This year, she is part of Godot Theatre's musical 3 idiots as both choreographer and a performer, and last year, she choreographed for the Taipei Parents' Association for the Visually Impaired's Incubator Artists and National Chiayi University's Shrek. In 2023, she went to South Korea to study musical theater, dance, and vocals. In 2022, she was a performer and choreographer for the musical THE RED THREAD WE ARE HOLDING, which showed at the Edinburgh Festival Fringe. That same year, she worked as an assistant movement designer for Tropical Angels: A Taiwanese Musical and as a performer and choreographer for the original Mandarin musical The Perfect Answer. Her multiple talents and professional capacity have brought her opportunities to work as a dancer and rehearsal assistant for such big names as Sammi Cheng, G.E.M., Joey Yung, Wilber Pan, Vivian Hsu, and Tse Nga Yi.
Artistic designer Mei Chen
With a background in advertising design and years of experience in visual arts, Mei Chen specialises in transforming complex ideas into clear, minimalist visual structures. Her expertise lies in crafting spatial atmospheres that tell compelling stories through thoughtful and strategic arrangement.
Currently, she is part of the operations and design team at Shiii Studio in Taichung. Her role involves overseeing spatial planning and visual design for craft exhibitions, workshops, and interior displays.
Vocal assistant rehearsal Catherine Kao
A versatile performing artist and vocal specialist, Catherine Kao holds both a Master of Music and a Bachelor of Music from National Chiayi University. Trained by vocal pedagogue Chang De-en, she brings a multi-instrumental background in piano and flute to her work.
Catherine's career spans musical theatre, opera, and experimental theatre. Beyond the stage, she draws on her professional training to work as a vocal coach and rehearsal assistant, bridging performance excellence with artistic education.
